Woodstock Line Company
In 1946 Sam and Abe Rodensky founded Woodstock Line in the heart of Putnam, Connecticut’s mill district. They began with a goal of manufacturing the highest quality braided Dacron and Nylon fishing lines available. Along the way, the Rodenskys expanded their offerings to newer technologies.
Bernie and Janet Phaneuf became the new stewards of Woodstock Line in 2000. For 21 years, Woodstock Line continued to fine tune and expand its offerings. They built a strong following with their Ice Fishing Line.
In 2021, Dan and Betsy O’Hayer purchased Woodstock Line, along with Mike Lavallee running operations. They worked tirelessly in the repair of 800+ braiding machines, most of which are over 90 years old.
In 2026, Reid and Marie Chamberlin became the new owners, allowing Dan and Betsy to enjoy a new chapter as grandparents. Reid entered manufacturing after serving as a Blackhawk Crew Chief in the Army. He took his first role at Sikorsky Aircraft, then moved through a couple industries in his 20 year corporate operations career. Marie was an elementary school teacher and transitioned to a quieter role as the director of May Memorial Library in Woodstock. She now enjoys talking with people about fishing line as much as she does talking about books. Marie and Reid are excited to build on the many years of success and bring Woodstock Line into a new chapter expanding its offerings.
Woodstock Line’s mission-driven crew members stayed on and continue to improve quality and increase capacity. The team has also significantly decreased the turnaround time for orders. Woodstock Line remains a steadfast, trusted partner in creating new and innovative braided line products for fishing, medical, construction, food, and government industries.
